Comp's working again!! Wh00t!! ^_^

Had to take it down to the service center (by 'it', I mean just the mainboard, which of course neccesitated the removal of the other components of said board e.g.: CPU, Graphic cards), but they got it working again within 5 minutes. And even though it was past warranty, they didn't charge me anything! ^_^

In the process, I think the overheating problem's been licked. I mean it's been running fine so far, without a reset. (Funny thing is, the guy told me that if the board's overheating, it would shut off, not reset.) But then again, looking over the temperture gauge, and thinking back, I have been working this thing pretty hard. Sometimes running like 7 to 10 apps at once. Time to cut down. ^ ^

Computer troubles.

Yeah, I tried to update the BIOS of my mainboard but that went south real fast.

First I did it via MSI's live update. It allowed me to do it via Windows rather than the traditional DOS flash update. For some reason, that didn't work right. (Had the option of creating a rescue disk but I decided to skip it (I had no floppies and a non-functional floppy drive).)

Anyway, after first finding out how to create a recovery disk and buying a new drive I tried to do a recovery. That went halfway to the South Pole. =P Now the computer won't even make a sound (not even the 'activation beep').

*Sigh* Guess I have to get professional help. I hope this get resolved soon.

Later. =\

So I finally make another attempt at the post that crashed. =P

I can't remember exactly what I was trying to say, but here's some of what I remember.

====================================
A short time ago, when going home, I happened to notice some kids in the train across from me. Now this wouldn't be much normally, except that it was like about midnight, and the kids were like twelve. Their parents were nearby but... when I was their age, I was expected to be asleep by nine.

That wasn't the only instance, another time when I was going home late from work, I saw someone burning religious offerings at about three in the morning. There was a little kid of about eight wide awake and playing near him. At three in the morning!

I know that my mom tends to overdo things when being a parent (at 18 years of age, I'm expected to go to sleep by eleven), but I never would have imagine being out and about at midnight until I was twenty (yes, I believe that I have a skewed childhood/upbringing).

====================================
Here's an interesting fact.

It turns out that the Automated Teller Machine of the bank I patronise uses Windows as its OS. I only found this out when I wanted to use a machine that somehow didn't load its 'Start up' folder. I saw a blank black screen with the windows taskbar and 'Start' button. Not exactly confidance inspiring. ^ ^

&*#$&%#*&#

Was writing half a post when suddenly with no reason at all, Firefox 'performed an illegal operation' and died taking my post with it.

Gonna have to reconstruct it...

Edit: Of course, it was only _after_ I posted this that I notice the 'Recover Post' link... -_-*
